bling or bling-bling for expensive or flashy jewelry.  Probably the dumbest, most overused phrase of the decade so far.

The one I hate the most is when I hear teenage guys say, "Oh dude got OWNED!".  They'll say it if someone puts another guy down, or wins an argument, wins a fight, or blows by someone on the basketball court.  I hate it, it is so annoying.

Then there is all the left over hip hop slang from the 90s, especially the late 90s, that is still in use and I never warmed up to.  Like "playa", "don't be a hater", "sheeeeiiit", "da bomb!", "waasssuup".  Though these have been around for so long, that I am guilty of using them from time to time.

What I have noticed lately is that people say things and then add 'and s**t' to the end of a sentence for no good reason.

For e.g

I went to the shop to buy some bananas and s**t.

Ah, from gaming.  PWN3D.  I actually got a kick out of seeing and hearing it used in real life.

Speaking of which, is "FAIL" making it off the Intarwebs and into real life?  I think it's a worthy successor, especially since it encompasses the non-competitive situations we all encounter in life.  The situations to which it can be applied are sufficiently universal that I'm even seeing my non-gaming co-workers using it.  It started in '07, but I'm thinking of it as a potential candidate for Word of the Year, 2008.  If w00t can get into the dictionary (with two zeroes), then why not FAIL, all in caps?

the one that ticks me off is the saying "hurtin" "get R done"  "rape"  "quer" like queer.. but said and spelt differently and "hellyes, fudgeyeah, or any swear word in front and "yeah/yes" afterwards."

the rape one i use to always say.. But really? i learned it off my brother playing halo3. ha ha its still bad to say it. for example:
i said to my brother at the kitchen "I'm going to rape you so bad tonight(meaning halo3)". and my dad spazzed like sheesh lol.

But i remember in grade 8 "hurtin" was always said! for example
"Maaaan, that test was so hurtin"

when i reached grade 9 "get R done" was said for example

Jimmy: Damn Did you see that fine ass chick over there? Man I sure would love to get a piece of that.
Jason: Hell Yea!! So would I. Git R Done!!!!"
(the dumbest saying in this society today!)

And "quer" same term as queer.
when i reached grade 10 and i was in my classroom thats all kids said down the hallway! example.

"hey what you looking at..."
"QUERRR!"

grade 11 was most used by "hellyes or fudgeyeah" example.
"maan kirks party is coming up you pumped?!"
"hellyes i am!"

On my favourite radio station BBC Radio 1, a lot of DJs say, "Choon," particularly Nihal, Richard McCourt and Dominic Wood.

A lot of slang words were used in Chav culture in the mid 2000s. Here are some of them:

Blazin' - very good
Buzzin' - expression of approval
Check it - look at it
Coffin dodger - elderly person
Diss - disrespect
Floor it - drive very fast
Gov - authority figure
Innit - Isn't it? (I just thought of the, "Cab, innit," story)
Not a prayer - not a chance
Spark up - to light up a cigarette
Talent - good-looking girl

These words are taken from a book called 'The Little Book of Chavs' (Published in 2004 - 2005 by Crombie Jardine Publishing Limited).

"like" is used for every other word.
"diss"- Hey man, why you gotta diss me for?
"shizz" - AH man that song was the shizz.
fer sure/fo sho/fer rizzle- "Fo sho bruh" = "For real/Yes"
Own,Owned,Ownt,Pwn,Pwnd= "You got OWNED"
Rape= Totally annihilate-- "Dude, in that game- you go raped."

Every reality show contestant says that. When they get eliminated, they say they had an an "amazing journey".

One day I was watching The View and Joy Behar talked about how the word amazing is overused. The next day Whoopi, Elizabeth and Sherri all used the word amazing to describe something that happened to them.

Shiznack should be 'shiznit', a reference to 'sh*t', which is also part a slang phrase, but maybe not of the 2000s. If some is 'the sh*t', then they are exceptionally skilled at a certain trade or hobby, and it may refer to someone who can easily romance/sleep with women. It is actually the opposite as calling someone the name 'sh*t' alone. The 'the' makes all the difference.

"Yo, you hear that dude ChuckyG wrote a book too?"
"Man, that niggaz the sh*t*"

Ok, is it just where I live or are you guys forgetting EPIC! Epic is really popular, and usually goes before FAIL. Its another word for awesome or really cool, etc. Stalker and creeper are really big too. Other words:

Googled it- searched something online on google
Txting- texting on a cell phone
Tweet- Writting/responding on twitter
Unfriend- Remove from friends list on social network site (Facebook, Myspace, etc)
Wal-Mart!- Reply to someone who is complaining that they need something (ie: "I NEED a hairbrush!!!" "WAL-MART!")
Vlog- Video blog (see: Shaycarl, the world's big vlogger :D)
Burned- Someone who just got insulted("You just got BURNED!")
Burn it- (CD usuage) Taking songs from a computer to a CD
Synk- Synchronize anything (mp3 player, remote...watches)
Cybering- Online (usually chat rooms) sexual...things >_>
Kawaii- (Japanese) Means cute
MMO- "massive multiplayer online" game (World of Warcraft, Perfect World, etc)
RPG- Role Playing game
Scene- A stereotype, a person that takes some styles from the '80s, with really big bitchin' hair (usually dyed several times), who likes more childish things like hello kitty and dinos and robots and stuff. I personally think that stereotypes are stupid  and a person can be whatever they want to be, but, hey, it is a slang word.

Of course, ripping on "my bad" is now as bad as saying "my bad."

epic fail is a huge one, it's probably more late 00s and early 10s than strictly 00s though.

Epic was bound to have it's day.

In 10 years they'll be saying, "That teleporting experience was totally Ulysses!

I personally think that stereotypes are stupid  and a person can be whatever they want to be, but, hey, it is a slang word.
;D

oh yeah and done forget: rip- to take something (still used like in rip-off)
head: yeah...
anal: someone who's mad (ex. No need to be anal)
pop: to open (pop the trunk)
Cut: to turn on (cut of that light)

Exactly what I thought!  I have a Twitter account.  So, does that make you twit? :P

What if you had a twitter account and then stopped using the service?  If it's a verb, it's gotta have a past tense, right?

Yes, I'm referring the beverage made by steeping leaves of Camellia sinensis in hot water, while served aboard an aircraft owned and operated by Trans-World Airlines.  To what did you think I was referring?

I've been noticing that a lot actually. Here's something that I just heard for the first time yesterday: the word "peng". It was used to describe a girl. What the hell?! ???
