I remember when MTV began on August 1, 1981....it was SO cool! I enjoyed it through the 80's...until YO! MTV Raps started....and then they started to play less music and more crap...they were better in the early days....IMHO ;)

I liked MTV when it was a radio station with pictures, I'd say from 1981-1986. Those years happened to coincide with the years in which I also liked a lot of the pop music MTV played. MTV was never a wholesome institution,* but now it's sheer thuggery and quasi-pornographic swill.

Nothing, just not my choice....but also I believe that is around the time they started having "Shows" and were phasing out videos :-\\

i've must have watched about 15 minutes of MTV in my whole life. sorry, i'm canadian. we have much music, a far superior pop culture station. well, at least it used to be... :\'(
