A poster on another forum asked the following question about '80s bands:80s Bands?

what are some bands that play music similiar to Tears for Fears?

I drew a giant blank.  Do you have any good answers?

Wow, er... I suppose a lot of Indie bands' styles compare with Orzabal's work under the label in the 90s, but... TFF's work is so varied across the years it's impossible to draw comparisons.

Years ago I heard Tears For Fears being compared to The Moody Blues.

I'd say that's a fair comparison but only if you ignore everything The Moody Blues recorded after their 1972 album "Seventh Sojourn".  From their 1978 album "Octave" onwards....bleah.

I often thought Blancmange, Thompson Twins and OMD sounded very much like Tears for Fears.

Good bands they all are too . . .  :)
