J.K. Rowling's sixth Potter novel due July 16
NEW YORK (AP)  The sixth novel in J.K. Rowling's blockbuster Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, will go on sale in Britain and the United States on July 16, publishers said Tuesday.

why do they need to wait 7 months to publish it? It doesn't take that long to make all the books, does it? And ithere really isn't a point in waiting for marketing purposes since everyone who wants it would probably buy it whether it comes out in January or July... or might it have something to do with kids having more time to read when school is over?

I think I might just wait for book 7 to come out and then buy the last two.
I haven't finished 4 yet and I got 5 last Christmas and I STILL haven't read it!

It's number one on amazon's sale chart already too.
I imagine the lead time is for editing. She submitted it yesterday, but that is probably a first draft.

By the time J.K. Rowling finishes the series, Harry Potter will be an old man (maybe Daniel Radcliffe too).
