Subject: The Rise of the Public Domain DVDs (old movies, tv shows, & cartoons)

Have anybody noticed that most stores carry public domain DVDs of old movies, tv shows, and cartoons that comes in a thin cardboard sleeve?

I actually bought some public domain cartoons ("Superman", "Popeye", etc) for my relatives as stocking stuffers. :)
Though most of these cartoons are seen in other public domain sets like "Classic Cartoons Vol. 1 & 2".

Ranging from Popeye, Superman, Betty Boop, and a couple bland Harveytoons & a few Warner Bros. toons.
(Warner Bros. has recently put out restored cartoons on their "Golden Collection" & "Spotlight Collection" DVDs :D)
Despite of the fair (or poor) quality of these discs. I think it's worth checking.
What's your opinion? Good or Bad.

I've seen them many times in dollar stores and bargain bins, but the poor picture quality always turns me off. I s'pose they would be good for collectors as I know alot of it is really hard to find stuff
