The last film to properly scare me was Ringu (Japanese version of The Ring). Admittedly, it is a one-trick pony film but it is one hell of a trick!

I selpt with the TV on for a week after going to see one movie:
SIGNS!
Also, The Day After Tomorrow, The Manchurian Candidate and The Sum Of All Fears were all a little frightening when you realize, theoretically, all that kind of stuff could happen!

Their's more to it than that...as a movie it is actually pretty good..as a sequel it sucks majorly. Why because it's a whole brand new spankin storyline, where is Michael Myers!!?!?!?!

Now granted H20 and Ressurection have Michael Myers, but I dont' see them being much better than Part III becaue although they do indeed have the music, and Michael Myers, they act like Dr. Loomis and all of his battles with Michael never existed, and that ticks me off.

If you really want to be scared, check out Black Christmas, it's one of my favorite films. Another film that ceeps me out is The Dead Zone.

that is by far the scariest movie EVER. The directors cut is wicked awesome though. Watch at about 2PM on a Saturday with every light in your house on.

What makes it scary is that it was taken form several real life exorcism stories. The thought that there is actually demonic possesion scares the crap outta me!

Yep. Black Christmas is a little known gem from 1974 that established many of the conventions of the "slasher" genre, four years before Halloween (which I also love). I definitely recommend checking this movie out, if you're into that sort of thing. I saw it on TV a while ago and was genuinely creeped out -- it's done simply but artfully, making use of shadows and weird camera angles to create a sense of threat and unease, and it's impeccably acted. Apparently it's the first movie to use the "killer-is-calling-from-inside-the-house" motif; obviously it's become a cliche, but it wasn't in 1974 and even today it's still very effective in this movie.

I ALWAYS watch Halloween alone for ultimate creepiness....still scares me.
I find one my fave good/bad movies, Prince of Darkness, to be very creepy...as you might know, i have a thing about static and electric sounds. and the little transmissions from the past shown in that film freak me the f out!!!

Those early 80's Horror films have always scared me.  In those days, Horror films were scary.  The horror films of today are fun to watch, but they aren't as scary as the earlier ones.  However ...

the Bill Paxton film Frailty did kind of freek me out a little bit.  It was great, and still the best Horror film I've ever seen 8)

South Park doesn't bother me, lol.

Misery is also a disturbing movie, but good. I saw it as a little kid and back then I was really disturbed, though now I probably wouldn't be.

I'm just really freaked out by gore.  I'm just sickened by the idea that that stuff exists under your skin, even if the portrayal of it is usually unrealistic.

I miss the classic slasher films of the early 80s.

Now THAT was horror.  I hate this PG-13 trend in horror, as well as these weird supernatural films like The Ring.

The Sixth Sense was great though, you have to admit.

Yeah, it was alright.

My favorite horror film/s will probably always be Friday the 13th parts I-IV.  They weren't quite as good after the fourth one because they changed Jason into a zombie and they started having more of a "late 80s" feel which I didn't care for.  My favorite is probably the third one, the one that was originally released in 3D.

That certainly scared me as a kid (especially the part where the guy looks in the mirror and he tears his skin off).

The most recent film that has had an impact on me was still the Japanese film 'Ringu'.
