Subject: Green Day 'American Idiot' nominated fro 7 Grammy's

Pop punk (or 'punk'...though I consider them alternative) band Green Day is nominated for 7 Grammy Awards including Album of the Year.
I'd admit that it's one of the great albums of the past year with good tracks like "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" and the epic "Jesus Of Surbubia". 8)
Any thoughts?

It's good to see American bands can emit anti-establishment statements and still get nominated for awards, I think that's healthy!

And I've read that it was had the lowest ratings last night...
Personally, it's just a dumb popularity contest and Green Day, U2 are waaayyy musch better than most of the pop acts today.

Green Day is great, Boulevard of Broken dreams is an excellent song.
