Subject: Looney Tunes' Nasty Extreme Makeover (No Joke!!!)

Written By: woops on 02/17/05 at 9:25 pm

Thought "Baby Looney Tunes" were bad...get the load of this  :(

Source: A site where I read interesting stuff about animation (Besides Toon Zone)

What's your opinion...good or bad?

IMO, I would show my young relatives the Golden Collection & several public domain tapes to show them how they're meant to be... FUNNY!!!  :D

Sadly, kids, animation buffs, and pop culture junkies can't see them on tv except for on Boomerang & on several 30 minute epiosodes of "Cartoon Alley" that comes once a month (Animation buffs would be proud since it's uncut...except for "Blitz Wolf" & Tom & Jerry cartoons that are dubbed)

it will last three seasons, like most animated shows.

the best WB revamped character show i seen so far is duck dodgers. both daffy and porky pig are kept in character and faithful to the duck dodgers shorts of the 50s.

Im not liking this at all.  Ive been a lifelong fan of the originals.  I typically hate any revamping of a true classic.

I suppose this new series will be overly PC just like everything else.  Its hard to beat the over the top humor of Chuck Jones/Friz Freeling/Bob Clampett/Mel Blanc

From what I understand, this will not be like the classic Bugs Bunny cartoons we all know and love.  This series will be the adventures of BUZZ Bunny, superhero.  He will be the leader of a team that includes characters like Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, etc.

I don't think we need to worry that the "real" Bugs is gone for good.

that picture looks kinda silly but I think that this cartoon will flop. That's just my opinion.I always grew up watching Looney Toons and now the cartoon will be called "Loonatics"a bunch of WB Looney Toons characters travel 800 years into the future to solve crimes.question is,how will they sound? ???

Who cares really? I don't watch them anymore and my son doesn't watch them. He doesn't find them entertaining. I've seen the promo for them though. It won't work.

And along with Chuck Jones, Bob Clampett, Friz Freling, Robert McKimson, etc.

Hopefully, this mess will flop.  :D

And for those who don't know, Looney Tunes weren't originally intended for kids. They were aimed towards adults and the whole family since it's been around for over a quarter century.

"Buzz Bunny"...wonder if the suits from Disney/Pixar would join the "battle" for that name...  ::)  :P

This will be a flop much like the resurrected Superman (or Supermen) and anything else WB wants to "downdate".

Well, it looks like everyone here's pessimistic about it, so let me be the first to actually defend the idea. You never know, it might be something really good. True, when they tried updating the characters in Space Jam, it turned out to be a complete disaster.  :( But the cartoon from the early '90s, Tiny Toons, was also a spin-off of the old Looney Tunes characters, and that show was a resounding success!  :)

Tiny Toons was an update to the old characters, and it was an absolutely wonderful show.

Personally, I really enjoy all the new WB versions of the old comic book superheroes like Superman and Batman.

Hopefully, this new cartoon will be less like Space Jam and more like Tiny Toons.

Leave Bugs alone.  Don't do that stupid cr*p.  It's not my fault you seven-figure-a-year suits can't top Bugs Bunny with your own stuff.  If you want memorable cartoon characters, get your heads out of the money jar with McDonalds and Coca-Cola and work on the creative side of things for a change!

What I'd like to see is a bigger picture of them.

And they said they're descendents, not official remakes.

I'd prefer if they showed the originals on the WB though.

And for those who don't know, Looney Tunes weren't originally intended for kids. They were aimed towards adults and the whole family since it's been around for over a quarter century.

a quarter of a century's 25 years.  Try 75+ years.

It's worse than that "Batman Beyond."
