Subject: Illegal red dye found in foods in the UK
Written By: Stompgal on 02/18/05 at 11:10 am
This is one topic that concerns the Food Standards Agency. The dye is known as Sudan I and it has apparently been used to colour Worster sauce and chilli powder. Sudan I can increase the risk of cancer. For more information, go to www.food.gov.uk/sudanlist.

Well, that's me doomed then...saw it on the news tonight and there's a lot of 'boxed' meals involved - not my staple diet, but I do consume a fair amount...
Seriously, if I were to worry about every food scare, I'd die of starvation...!

I find stories like this really very frightening. I am starting to buy less and less processed food. Makes more work for me but I'd rather have a healthy family. I'm even thinking of starting a vege patch in the back yard. I'd also love a few chooks but then so would the dog!
