Subject: Songs of 2005 (so far!!)

Written By: Kyle on 03/21/05 at 8:03 pm

Which songs do you like the most so far this year?  It doesn't have to be hit song, and it could be old songs from 1998-1999+ that sound like 2005 on the radio, too.  I hope you post some very good ones.  :)

Here are some of mine:

Frankie J/Baby Bash:   Obsession
Eiffel 65:  Blue (Da Ba Dee)  8)  (actually a song of 1999, but still cool where I live)
Rob Thomas  Lonely No More
Green Day  Boulevard of Broken Dreams
Natalie:  Goin' Crazy (has good No Secrets sound to it.)  :)
Bowling for Soup Almost
Usher Caught Up!!!  :D
Justin Timberlake/Snoop Dogg Signs
That Pink Panther like song from Smashmouth, too.

What are yours!!

I liked "The Ocean Breathes Salty" by Modest Mouse. Thought that might be considered very late 2004.

Boulevard of Broken Dreams is also technically 2004.

(that's a somewhat obscure song (well, maybe not), but I'm surprised anyone still listens to it)

Over here in the UK, it is the current Number One record Amarillo by Tony Christie (originally released in 1971, but this year has been a charity record for Comic Relief, featuring Peter Kay mining to it, along with a host of celebrities).

Some of these are technically 2003-2004 artists, but are still on high rotation:

The Postal Service
Flaming Lips
Queens of the Stone Age (new album soon)
The Shins
Interpol
Modest Mouse
The Killers
Snow Patrol
The Tragically Hip (still around)
Various NZ artists (won't list them)

etc.

Sitting, Waiting, Wishing - Jack Johnson  8)

Beating Heart Baby - Head Automatica

Empty Souls - Manic Street Preachers

I don't really get chance to listen to new music, because the radio in work plays all this pop lark.  And I just can't stands it.

Nelly: N Dey Sey (Original: 1998)  Rip off of San Al Ballet.  :D
Kelly Clarkson  Since She Had Been Gone
Good Charlotte  I Just Wanna Live
Christina Aguilera Genie in the Bottle
Mariah Carey  I Betch' All
Remedy (2002, but still popular like Genie in the Bottle) by  ???
Michelle Branch Everytime

I a few hours, my best friend Sk8terBoiforLife2004 (Coty) will take a look at the threads.

:)  Hope he has some good replies, y'all.  Peace out, dogg and reply soon.  OK

I'm also surprised that people still listen to Motorhead, AC/DC, Aerosmith, Buzz Cocks, etc.  ;D I'd also heard Lou Bega's Mambo No. 5 in the school library during study hall and I couldn't even resist dancing to it.  :) :D  Party like it's 1999, man!

I got some Children of Bodom.  :D They're OK (Considering I'm not much of a metalhead  :D)

I saw them open up for Dimmu Borgir in 2003, they have a new CD out so they should be touring this year, try some Opeth, Katatonia and Amorphis, all three used to be very heavy but are rather melodic now

Ronan Keating totally destroyed Cat Stevens' Father And Son last year.
