Subject: Let' start a 911 call 'Stupid person' law

Written By: saver on 05/04/05 at 10:39 pm

This may fall in line with all who are complaining how the Runaway Bride should be charged with abusing the system some way..

After watching an LA News story on how the 911 operators have to 'sift' through nonsense calls to find someone  REALLY in need...they played a recent call from a woman in San Clamente Calif. calling from a Byrger King restaurant because she ordered a Western Burger and they gave her the wrong order 4 times!

The operator calmly told her 'ma'am we will not send help to enforce a Western Burger order.'

So it didn't run up a bill for the police but multiply that x the many stupid people also calling and that's why people are put on hold trying to reach 911..

How can we cut out this mess of fat from society ? ???

Get rid of Burger Kings? That should cut a mess of the fat out right there. :) As for 911, I guess maybe hand out fliers or something. Heck, when I was a little kid there was usually a police officer or a fireman or something that made visits to school to talk to children. Give the kids flyers to give to their parents. That might cut some of it anyway.

Also heard of the guy while at a police station, lost a wallet supposedly with $3K in it and the cleaning person found it, returned it with $1K and the guy complained he had 3 in it. I think they gave the cleanup person a test and passed but the guy is still upset all of it was not in it...sheeez!

911 stupidity runs at both ends. Remeber when the Olympics in Atlanta were bombed, and the operator asked someone if they had directions to Centennial Park, where most of the nighttime activities were taking place (the other person didn't know either). It might have been the coordinator's fault, but some one over there should have lost their licenses to communicate. >:(

There was a major 911 blunder in Philadelphia about 10 years ago...a teenager lost his life during a beating by a local gang..911 was called...and they made a MAJOR mistake by waiting too long to send police to the scene...the operator got in major trouble....and the city's 911 system got in legal hot water too....
