I think I already signed this petition....like a year ago (in fact, I think I posted this same link then)....
tis a shame if they close down....THe Fez (another place just like CBGBs-this one though is where the comedy group Stella performed for 5 years prior to their show on Comedy Central) closed down earlier this year for similar reasons...tis a shame

It's a club in New York, The Ramones and The Talking Heads got their start there at one point, it might be getting torn down soon though.

It should be kept open as a historical landmark, not torn down....

yes, I agree. There are too many places that have been of total relevance to the pioneering of many important icons, that have been torn down...to make way for yet another Walmart...or the such....tis a shame.
