Police suspect drug addicts are stealing lampposts in Baltimore to pay for their habits. Scrapmetal fetches a reasonable price on the salvage market, but there has got to be an easier way to score a few bills for your next rock of crack or baggie of heroin. Besides, wouldn't a dope fiend hauling off a thirty-foot utility pole be a bit, you know, conspicuous?
The whole story smells suspicious if you ask me. I'd be ready to believe UFOs were extracting them before this one. WTF!

On Chicago's southeast side, the locals have been stealing guardrail aluminum off of the bridges and viaducts for years.

Hey, in Newark, New Jersey, nothing is 'taboo' for anyone whose mind is on theivery or scoring some illegal substance(s) to try and steal...Newark is the carjacking capital of the East Coast...
I've heard of dopers stealing another doper's stash, too! Just make sure the person you're trying to rob(pickpocket, carjack, kidnap, murder)is not PACKING HEAT...
Even Atlantic City has drive-by shootings that are gang-related... and thieves that want a piece of someone's casino winnings,even if it's some little old lady..
