Subject: How long will who last?
Written By: Donnie Darko on 01/22/06 at 2:33 am
This is how long I think current musicians will be popular, my semi-psychic predictions:
50 Cent - up to 2008
Britney - 2006 is final call
Eminem - 2006, comeback in 2008-'09
Fall Out Boy - up to early 2010s
System of a Down - up to 2008
Nickelback - up to 2009
Urrsher - up to 2007
Kanye West - up to 2011
Lil' Jon - up to 2009-'10
Mariah Carey - this is her final call
Jay-Z - through 2010s
Linkin Park - up to 2010-'11
My Chemical Romance - up to 2009
Chris Brown - come and go
Nelly - up to 2010-'11
Pussycat Dolls - through 2010s, although somewhat lo-pro
All-American Rejects - up to 2012
Kelly Clarkson - early 2010s
The Black Eyed Peas - 2009
Weezer - up to 2009
Green Day - return in 2009-'10, then gone
No Doubt/Gwen Stefani - 2009

System of a Down - up to 2008
I'd give them a few more years yet. Over here they are just as popular now as they were in 2001 (when Toxicity came out). Although 2005-2006 might be their peak, I still imagine at least 2 high-selling albums before they call it a day.
Nickelback - up to 2009I think these guys have had their day. They might release 2 more albums before either breaking up or fading into obscurity.
Weezer - up to 2009Didn't even realise they were still around? ::)
Linkin Park - up to 2010-'11The same as Nickelback, They might release 2 more albums before either breaking up or fading into obscurity.

Mariah Carey - this is her final call
Mariah Carey will never go away. Hell, if Glitter can't stop her, nothing will >:(
Nickelback - up to 2009
I don't think Nickelback will ever die, unless Chad Kroeger decided to do solo, but I don't think he will. They are too well loved around the world
In just the few short years they've had success, they've achieved international success, a feat that not many Canadian artists can do.

How about- "I swear it was her mouth that I was kissin'" from Animals?
Great stuff! ::)
I think your predictions are pretty good, but in some cases I hope they're not.

Because of the lackluster performance of his film, Get Rich or Die Trying, 2009.
Britney
Unless she makes a new album soon.... pretty soon.
Eminem
Probally anywhere from 2008-2009, will annouce his retirement to produce albums, may do occasional album here and there.

Weezer
Probally 2007

2019 for Audioslave and Velvet Revolver? So that post-grunge is going to last through the 2010s, or just them?

Post grunge will somewhat popular, I kind of figure that the groups may die out by that time.
If Scott Weiland doesn't end up in trouble again by then, Velvet Revolver may last a little longer.
