Look at my avatar ... that's Mike Shinoda, the Linkin Park rapper. Doesn't that look so emo?
Plus, Chester Bennington is like the lord of the emos, even if Linkin Park are numetal.
Can they possibly be both? I kind of notice a really vague eighties influence in some of their songs too.

Breaking the Habit is probably their only song that borders upon being emo. Their debut was more purely numetal.

It does look emo, lol. They don't really sound whiny like emo though.

I think they have emo influences. Literally every rock band now does, especially if they want to appeal to the teen crowd.

If they are part emo it's a very very small part. They may have a slight emo sound but there purely nu-metal IMO.
