I guess it's a bit like the 'symbols' decade, but if you were to make a time capsule for grandchildren of the 00s, what would you put in it?
I'd say the seminal things would be;
an ipod
a bootleg eminem compilation
a short denim skirt
a harry potter book
a DVD player

A Playstation 2
A high tech Cell Phone(w/games of course)
Bush/Kerry 2004 campaign sticker(one of the defining moments of the decade)

Anything reality TV related

I would put
1) A record player
2) A VCR (Mono) with many tapes
3) An 8 track player with several cartridges
4) A cassette player with several cassettes
