In 2012, the world will end. 2006-2010, + 2011 and most of 2012 will lead up to it.

And, a Democrat will win '08.

why do people always say it will end in 2012 who came up with that year?

The Mayans...but they didn't predict THEY would be ending before 2012... ;D

Honey, I know you think we're in end times, but we're really in no more of end times than the 1910s.

-A Democrat will win in '08.
-A liberal religious revivalist movement will sweep Northeastern Jews and Catholics c. 2010.
-Religious fundamentalism will decline in the south, conversely.
-Anti-outsourcing and illegal immigration activism will increase, and there will be more anti-corporate and commercialist sentiment.
-Mainstream music will suck.
-A new, non-art school, non-indiemo, more proletariat type of indie rock, and intellectual rap, will start coming back.
-R&B will start coming back, and maybe disco and funk, in a neo-hip hop way.
-Glam rap will take a big hit...so will emo and the current indie rock scene.
-We will have a shattering recession and decline in property values, and alot of people will go broke.

I predict WWIII will happen about 2008-09. Iran and North Korea will form an alliance, and send a force 'disguised as terrorists' to bomb Washington, New York, L.A., Chicago, Philadelphia.etc.

Meh.

We'd kill them all. In two seconds.

Ashley Tisdale will star in a bad Fox sitcom that lasts a few episodes and end up doing "High School Reunion", which she'll end up nostalgia fodder for today's teenyboppers  :D

Scarlett Johansen will win an Oscar.

People will stop wanting to be identified as hipsters, the whole neo-bohemian/neo-new wave fashion look will go out. A bunch of late '80s stars like Rick Astley, Taylor Daynes, Janet Jackson, Paula Abdul, Jody Watley, and Debbie Gibson will make comebacks. Jessica Simpson, Paris Hilton, and Britney Spears will totally fall out of fame starting in 2006-2007.

I can believe all of that.  I hate to say it, but I don't think the late '80s comeback will be huge.  They'll be more like Duran Duran's comeback in 2005.

Though she still releases albums

Late 2006/Early 2007 - Iran will be attacked. This will become a great mess and possibly lead to WW3.
Late 2008 - The U.S. will choose a Democratic goverment, mainly due to the ^ above.
Late 2008/Early 2009 - A new music revolution not too dissimilar to the Grunge movement of the late 80s will start up. Downloading (legitimitaly) will become the main source for new music as CDs die away.

I'm sorry, but CDs will not die away. That's like the theory that the movies were going to die away because of TV in the '50s. And we won't attack Iran either. A Dem will probably be elected in '08. I agree that a sort of late '80s-early '90s (grunge, Pixies, Sonic Youth, R.E.M, Husker Du, Dinosaur Jr.) influenced alternative rock will come back around the time I'm in college that's no-hipster, no-balony, no-metrosexuality, and very genuine and unpretentious.

CDs and removable media will remain because of the convenience factor. CD's are only just hanging round cos they're dirt cheap and most people still have those arcane stereos that only play Audio (WAV-encoded) CD's (or MP3 if they're lucky). It's also for back-compatibility (though the fact you can burn them onto HD kind of nullifies that). I don't think MP3-CDs will really catch on at all aside from in car-stereos, although hard-drive media and wireless networking will consolidate its dominant position in the latter years of the 00s. We'll see the successors of SACD, DVD-Audio.etc replace Compact discs, like Digital TV replaces analog, by about 2012. So in some ways the 'Compact disc' will EVENTUALLY be relegated like vinyl has.

The CD is really only an update of vinyl.  That's why they're called albums.

There will still be a form of removable media similar to a CD, though.

Indeed, the 3" compact disc is as durable (lasting-power wise, not so physically) as its vinyl predessors, and has become so ubiqutous and familiar it's hard to see anything else replacing it. Look at Sony's minidisk and the huge brew-haha behind it and how it flopped miserably. It's a lesson Nintendo should have learned a long time ago...

I will be 22 in 2010.
Gasoline prices will soar, vehicles that run on biodiesel will start to be manufactured by Volkswagen, others will follow.
Other alternative fuel sources such as grain or something will be introduced.
People will miss simpler days.

Ethanol? Bio-diesel? Still a pipe-dream until oil reserves REALLY dry up, if big-business gets it's way...

One time, I heard two popular kids talking about why everybody needed an iPod, when there are other perfectly good mp3 players (for less, too...Apple cheats people for quality, IMO, and the things constantly break.) One word: status.

She's not a bubblegum pop singer anymore. Is she is, I'd be 4 years old!

Her music is better than Jewel, Celine Dion, even what  Madonna have released in the past 15 years.

I gave my I.pod away..

.. there is a story behind that though.

I shelled out $270 for a 35GB Phillips MP3 player and have never looked back.

It's incredibly stylish, thin, black - no buttons, touch sensors, holds as much as a 40 GB I.Pod because it will take futher compressed forms of media, crystal clear color LCD screen, great battery life, marvelous machine!

I have a 20GB Iriver H120 I've owned since early 2004, when Hard-drive MP3 players were just getting big. I too considered getting any ipod, but opted for the iriver because it had more functionality. I've nearly filled it up, after which I'll probably go for a 30GB, even though I rarely take my player out with me. It connects to my 5.1 surround sound system and functions as a stereo minus a remote.
