Subject: Reggaeton/Dancehall Influence on the '00s

Written By: velvetoneo on 04/26/06 at 9:26 pm

This, along with '90s R&B, crunk, and synth pop and to a lesser degree gangsta rap, is a big influence on the glam hop of the '00s. Like Rihanna and Sean Paul being extremely successful, for example...I feel like this is the "foreign music craze" of the mid-'00s, the same way that Latin music was big from the late '80s through the early '00s and dub/reggae was big in the '70s and early '90s.

I think so.  It mingles with hip hop.

Yea this is basically another part of hip-hop. I don't mind this type of music really. I really like Rihanna, but it may be more for her looks I don't know, lol.
