Around 1900:
The western frontier became history.
Electric lighting became commonplace.
Factories took over craftswork.
Telephones, cars, and later airplanes cause globalization.
Movies begin to become popular.
Earliest use of radio.
The horse and buggy disappears.
Recorded sound becomes commonplace.
Around 2000:
Computers become ubuitiquous.
Robots take over factory work.
The Internet makes the world almost completely globalized.
The MP3 displaces hard copies of music.
Movie sales, and viewing of television declines.
The earliest nanotech appears.
The typewriter, vinyl record, and telegraph become relics almost overnight.
Radio takes to the skies.
Space travel very slowly becomes public.
