Here's some ideas:
"Wigger" look: Baggy pants, black sweater, short hair
Early '00s slut: Exposed belly button, hoop earrings, pants with a word on the butt
Preppie: Abercrombie and Fitch, white shoes, straight or parted hair
Emo recluse: Hooded sweater, 80s tee
Emo nerd: Buddy Holly glasses, sideburns, work clothes
Punk: Safety pins with band names, tight pants
Indie kid: Shaggy hair, retro 60s/70s shirt

An oughties day? Well, if I were a preppie, I would have slightly shaggy hair, a popped-collar polo shirt in a color like lime green or tangerine, super-white K-Swiss or IZOD sneakers, and some sort of pink trucker hat. If it were winter, a cardigan sweater, and if I were a girl, pearls and a North Face Jacket. The "emo" nerd sounds sort of late '90s, actually...
If I were an "emo" or indie kid, I would wear some sort of thick-rimmed glasses, shaggy hair with long bangs and a stripe in front, tight pants, some sort of polo shirt or T-shirt with a hoodie, '80s nostalgia dotted through, etc.

Probably a space suit with a helmet, life-support and direct oxygen injection! lol. If pollution, deforestation.etc gets any worse, than it may not such a far-fetched idea...
