I'll have to go with "Check On It" by Beyonce. It has a catchy tune.

I dont really care for any of these songs that much but to pick one it would be Dare by Gorillaz.

I think it means that the song charted in both Dec. 2005 and Jan. 2006

I vote other as well.  I liked "When the Night Feels My Song" by Bedouin Soundclash.  It was a top 40 hit in both the UK and Canada in 2005.  It's still in the Canadian charts

Then Hips Don't Lie really doesn't belong on here, it didn't come out until around March 2006.

Other: "Black Horse And A Cherry Tree" by KT Tunstall...which seemed to become a hit in the U.S. in early 2006.

No knowing its correct title of this song on first hearing it, we called the "Whoo Hoo Song".

My favourite 05/06 "cusp" songs are probably all songs you won't know or heard of. Unless you're, Tubeway or somethin'.

And by "Other" I mean Suicide.  Because that's what I would rather commit than listen to any of that junk.

The music industry has Raped us all!  Violently Raped us and our money!

Hell, I'll bend over right now.  I'm begging the music industry to come down to my house right now and give it to me hard, RAPE ME HARD!  No Lube though.  This is exactly what they are doing to us, so come Rape me some more, YA JERKS!

I suppose that's one way of remembering it... after all, she does say "whoo hoo" in the background. Blur's "Song2" (which came out roughly a decade ago) also has a recurrent "Whoo hoo!" line. So I tend to think of Kt Tunstall's "Black Horse & A Cherry Tree" as the "acoustic 'whoo-hoo' song." :)

..and just to confuse matters there is a Japanese lady band called 5678s with a record called Woo Hoo, which has been feautred on commercials, being released in the UK this month.

Also unlisted: Natasha Bedingfield's "Unwritten"...which I know came out in late 2005, but probably peaked in early 2006.

That's a good song.  Very catchy snap beat... better than Lean and Rock Wit It.

Who will like Miss New Booty... sounds like the drunk fireman playing with the whistle with the Ying Yang Twins rapping to it.
