While I'm no big fan of Reality TV, Situation Comedy has certainly improved a lot over these years.. if we totally ignore Reality TV, the 00s win.

1990's
Best sitcoms, cartoons, and many networks were still good (MTV still aired videos, Looney Tunes still shown on tv). 8)

1990s. The absolute best sitcoms-ever. Also, networks like Nickelodeon and TVLand were still good. The 2000s has had a few good shows, like Six Feet Under, but otherwise it's the pits.

I think the true golden age of television was probably 50s-70s.

However, there was good cable in the '90s. The '60s were pretty lame.

The Golden ages of Television were 1969-1974 (the early 70s was rife with classic sitcoms, variety shows.etc), and 1987-1995. The early 90s produced so many classic sit-coms, and were sort of an echo of the family-friendly sitcoms of the early 70s.
