Subject: My Fantasy Band

Written By: KKay on 12/26/06 at 2:30 pm

This was  a great article on creating your fantasy band-  http://www.pastemagazine.com/action/article?article_id=2358
I was thinking it over and was considering hiring the following for my next project:
Bassists: Bruce Foxton, Tony Levin  (i need one for pop and one for my prog-rock project)
Drums: Clem Burke, Ray Cooper
Guitars: DAvid Rhodes, Andy Summers, Joe Walsh
Keys: Jerry Harrison, Ben Folds and Thomas Dolby
Vocals: Duets include David Byrne and David Bowie.
Backing Vocals:  Paula Cole, Tori Amos and  Brian Wilson

This is hard. Try it.

I was considering david gilmour....but i think we clash, artistically. ;D
See, I think I have a studio band that is separate from my tour band.  And I think i'm going to spend a long time on the road with the really cute guys. ;)

Damn, this is hard.. I think I have two leads that could play off of each other pretty well.

Vocals: Arrington de Dionyso (Old Time Relijun) or Hideki Fukasawa (Church of Misery)
Lead/Rhythm Guitar: Either Jack Owen (Cannibal Corpse, the man behind the song "Gallery of Suicide") or Buckethead, or some crazy combination.. or they can alternate rhythm and lead based on song.
Percussion: That bastard from Venetian Snares.. I know he's an electronic musician, but he does some weird sh-t with that stuff and time signatures, I think it'd work with the erratic group I've got so far. Pinchface could work, too.
Bass: I don't really think bass is needed, but I'd go with Les Claypool.
Keyboard: Jamie Stewart, the master of reaaaally depressed noise.

They'd play crazy technical avant death metal with funky-ass bass and ridiculously confusing time signatures.

Yeah- great idea. I would like to make a quiz that ended with results like that...."which futuristic art/music iconoclast are you?"

Les Claypool and Jack Owen are.. consecutivly.. THE MAN!

I'm digging the avant garde death metal. You like weird time signatures so I don't get how you don't LOVE!! Black metal. Talk about confusion.

I am Mike Garson.

He speaks glowingly of David Bowie, in a way.

It's gonna take me years to forgive Jack Owen for leaving Cannibal Corpse.

I don't know, something about Black Metal's Norse obsession bugs me.. but then, I do love Dimmu Borgir, so you never know, I might need to give it another shot.

That's just because you're a homosexual. Stop taking the strudel and you'll dig it.

It took me awhile to find it but I knew I posted it elsewhere.

My list, and the reason I chose this group, 1st and 2nd choice, is because they are all
versatile enough to play any style of music.

Keyboards..Keith Emerson    2nd choice...Jurgen Fritz
Guitar..Al Di Meola              2nd choice...Steve Howe
Bass..Stanley Clarke            2nd choice...Jaco Pastori
Drums...Carl Palmer            2nd choice...Steve Gadd
Vocalist...Amy Lee              2nd choice...Annie Haslam
