Subject: 2000s one of the most boring periods for pop culture?

It doesn't seem to me like theres a lot going on. The whole Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Britney, starlets are now declining precipitously in both popularity and influence, and much of Hollywood, the music scene, and movies have been mostly "glam." What's disappointing is the lack of authenticity in our pop culture scene, no doubt, because of the fact we are living in a time when what has been in chic has been more an emphasis on excess and superficiality. And to me, thats boring.

Does it really matter?
