Subject: Post office worker scoops £35.4m lottery jackpot

From The Times Online:

An administrative worker earning £16,000 a year was named last night as Britain’s biggest lottery winner.

Angela Cunningham, 40, realised that she had won the £35.4million EuroMillions jackpot on Monday, three days after the draw, after checking her ticket at the Royal Mail sorting office where she works.

One colleague said last night that Ms Cunningham was only able to buy the ticket after her manager allowed her to go home on Friday after she said she had forgotten to buy her ticket. She added: “Let’s hope the boss is rewarded for her good turn.”

Colleagues said there was “absolute bedlam” in the Glasgow sorting office when Ms Cunningham realised that she had the winning ticket. One said: “She was screaming ‘Oh my God’ over and over and people were cheering.”

Ms Cunningham separated from her husband, Gerry, five years ago and lives in East Kilbride with her son, John, 14. She is expected to show off her cheque today at a party organised by Camelot at Airth Castle hotel complex near Falkirk. Ms Cunningham’s win makes her worth more than Princes William and Harry, according to The Sunday Times Rich List.

The win dwarfs the previous biggest lottery win by a Briton of £22.5 million, won in 1995, although lags behind the £77 million won
