Subject: Hurricane Dean takes aim at the Yucatan

Written By: MaxwellSmart on 08/20/07 at 8:31 pm

Hurricane Dean is now a Category 5 storm and charging across the steamy gulf sea straight for Mexico and Belize.  Winds have kicked up as high as 180 mph.  Even if the storm drops to a Category 4 by land fall, devastation is still certain.

There are a lot of poor folks in these areas living completely off the grid.  Many won't know until it's too late.  Let's hope and pray for a the lives and safety of all, though some are sure to perish.

Not to detract from the impending catastrophe in Mexico, but if Dean hit New Orleans dead-on at 180 mph, we'd be talking about the Cajun Atlantis by next week.  They wouldn't even be able to save the Gumbo Disneyland they're trying to set up for the rich and the tourists down there.
