Subject: Favorite singers/bands who debuted in this decade?

My #1 favoirte is M.I.A., and I just started listening to her 3 days ago. I strongly reccomend listening to her if you are a fan or Timbaland, Nelly Furtado (the "new" nelly), Justin Timberlake, Rihanna, Gwen Stefani, etc., because she's a little like them, but 1,000,000,000,000,000 times better!!
Her new album just came out, and it's only $9.99! And it's getting STELLAR reviews! It currently has an 87% approval rating at metacritic! (based on 35 reviews!). Here's the link! http://www.metacritic.com/music/artists/mia/kala?q=M.I.A.

Can't think of any off the top of my head. Even the ones I thought were brand new I find they've been around since at least 1998-1999.

I can't really think of any either. It seems like most of the biggest groups and singers from the '00s have been around since at least the late '90s.

Whatever happened to Sandi Thom, she debuted in the charts with "I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker", had a few more records then disappeared, where did she go?

My favorite from this particular decade would have to be the band..Rooney. If you haven't heard anything by them....take a listen, they have some great catchy tunes.

Of an artist that I actually have albums by, I really like the english rock band Starsailor. Since their debut in 2001, they have achieved 10 UK Top 40 hits on 3 albums

Maroon 5, Fountains of Wayne, Rooney, solo Gwen Stefani and The Killers are good. In fact, I think they all have somewhat of an '80ish inspired sound, just in a form accomodating to the Zeroes.

Maroon 5, Fountains of Wayne, Rooney, solo Gwen Stefani and The Killers are good. In fact, I think they all have somewhat of an '80ish inspired sound, just in a form accomodating to the Zeroes.
No, Marty Fountains Of Wayne did not debut in this decade because Fountain's Of Wayne had a song play on the rock radio station I used to listen too(92.3 K-Rock) in the NJ/NY area in 1996 when I was in my sophmore year of High School. Anyway, Fountains Of Wayne when they had a semi-hit with Radiation Vibe they did not even sound like they did on "Staceys Mom"(80's like.)

Wow, I didn't know that. I guess they've been around longer than I realized. Come to think of it, I have seen an album of theirs called Utopia Parkway in CD shops before (I shop at places like that quite a bit, and I actually work at one of them), but I assumed it was from the early '00s or something.

I totally forgot about Maroon 5 as well. I too am a fan. I don't usually like the Top 40 mainstream bands, but how can one not love "This Love', "She Will Be Loved' and "Makes Me Wonder". Fantastic stuff! 8)

Oh yeah I remember "Sink To The Bottom With You" I forgot all about that song yeah K-Rock 92.3 used to play that song too. I got to download "Sink To The Bottom With You" sometime because I haven;t heard that songs in years.
