Subject: 2000's...most tv comebacks

Written By: woops on 11/20/07 at 8:41 pm

Have anybody noticed that there's many comebacks on television like Charlie Sheen & John Cryer on "Two & A Half Men", Keither Sutherland (didn't know who he was...) on "24", Ellen's talkshow, Neil Patrick Harris in "How I Met Your Mother", Vanessa Williams on "Ugly Betty", Paula Abdul on "American Idol", and Sally Field in "Brothers & Sisters".

I know there's always been veteran actors/entertainers on tv shows, but only a few were hits while many only lasted a few seasons.

Kiefer never really had a comeback.  24 was sort of a new career change for him.  He'd already had many box-office hits at the movies, but he'd never really done series television

Jon Cryer has the best of them all.  'Two and A Half Men' is the #1 sitcom on TV

other comebacks ...

Mark Paul Gosselaar (NYPD Blue)
John Schneider (Smallville)
Bob Saget (1 vs 100)
Christopher Rich (Reba)
Jami Gertz (Still Standing)
William Shatner (Boston Legal)
Rob Morrow (Numb3rs)
Judd Hirsch (Numb3rs)
David Hasselhoff (America's Got Talent)

I might also add Christina Applegate with "Samantha Who", but that show barely started.

I know she won an Emmy for a guest appearance on "Friends" and appeared on a few hit films like "Anchorman".

James Caan on Las Vegas
Tom Selleck on Las Vegas
Adam Baldwin on Chuck maybe not a comeback because he wasn't huge but just to be on tv at all is something for him
Jennifer Beals in the L Word

I forgot about Adam Baldwin on Chuck.  This is a BIG comeback for him.  He never was a big star, but I remember him from the great 80s flicks "DC Cab" and "Next of Kin"

don't forget My Bodyguard

I just said it wasn't really a comeback because he wasn't that big to begin with... there are lots of people I think have made a comeback but it doesn't count to others because they didn't know who they were in the first place.

I don't really think of Keiffers turn on 24 as a comeback because he has always been working. He didn't necessarily get the big roles but he was still in lots of films in the 90s

I thought Alec Baldwin is on the show "30 Rock" with Tina Fey.

Tom Selleck was on a couple CBS Sunday Night movies in the past couple of years too I think.

He is.  We were talking about the non-related Adam Baldwin, an actor since the 80s who appeared in films, but never became a big name
