Someone somewhere must have addressed this question but I missed that story...
WHY DID OUR MOST POPULAR COMIC BOOK HEROS..i.e.(SUPERMAN,SPIDERMAN,BATMAN/ROBIN,FLASH GORDON,CAPTAIN AMERICA),WEAR TIGHTS?????
Was there a fascination with those who would wear them,were they more comfortable to fight in,cheaper to own?
How many pair did they all own, you would think they snagged/ran when fighting....

my guess is they fit better under the clothes they had to wear when living their lives as their secret identities well Superman and Spiderman...
I think Batman and Robin just liked them ;)
also the material is more flexible so in a fight there's more ability to move because the tights were less constricting.

Back in the medival days, even Robin Hood and his Merrie Men wore tights, allegedly.

Robin is a little softie, i could see him crying if he got a run in his stockings. LOL. Wonder woman doesnt wear stockings.
