Subject: Is this decade the next 70's?

Written By: VegettoVa90 on 05/04/08 at 3:39 pm

I know it sounds weird, but it makes sense. The seventies had a lot of sixties holdovers, and this decade has a lot of 90's holdovers. Both decades were in political and economic turmoil, and both witnessed unjust and unexplainable wars. Nixon and Bush are both revolted by the general public, as are their cronies. Stagflation is another thing they have in common. Also, dance music were the biggest phenomena of each - the 70's had disco, this one has crunk/snap rap (and soon, major backlashes will be another similarity). They are both considered "black decades" as the most popular music came from black America, and the most popular rock n' roll of both were bands from the preceding decade (70's - Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones; 00's - Foo Fighters, Green Day, Radiohead). Also, both decades have struggled to find something unique to them, only to find it at the very end (70's disco, 00's crunk and emo).

Regardless, the 70's seemed like a much cooler time to live in  :)

If you stare at it long enough, you can start to see nothingness within the text :D
