Subject: Federal Economic Stimulus Payment

Written By: quirky_cat_girl on 05/07/08 at 11:19 am

I was reading an article in our local newspaper and it stated that many retail businesses are hoping that the public will decide to use their refund checks toward purchases, but the study said that most people will not. I was just curious as to what the majority of you plan on using your check for.

I know for me...it's going right in the bank. I always like to keep a certain amount of money onhand for bills or emergencies...so this will come in handy for that.

We got our money back & it's already been deposited into our account.  They're using the last 2 digits of your SS# to start payment and mine is really low.

using it for our summer vacation

We're using for bills and saving it for our Christmas vacation to Disneyworld. If they really think people will spend it at retail stores, they are foolish.

Help support the economy of the USA :-)

Federal Rebate Check

The federal government is sending each and every one of us a $600
rebate. If we spend it at Walmart, the money will go to China. If we spend it on
gasoline, the money will go to the Arabs. If we purchase a computer it
will go to India. If we purchase fruit and vegetables it will go to Mexico,
Honduras and Guatemala. If we purchase a good car, it will go to Japan.
If we purchase useless crap it will go to Taiwan.
and none of it will help the American economy. The only way to keep the
money here at home is to buy prostitutes, weed, beer and tattoos since
these are the only products still produced in the USA. Thank you for your help
and please support the US.

For me, I have of a combo of first putting most of it in the bank, then getting my own computer with it(since the one I'm using is not mine).

Other plans include getting new shoes that fit me(one of my current shoes ones is causing chronic pain to left foot on and off) and a few other necessities. Also plan on getting a Nintendo DS.

I should get 600 back(it better be that much, I make way alot more than the 3000 minimum).

My computer will be a custom job, although I will make sure it has a fair amount of gigabytes for storage.

Edit: The reason for putting up most of it in the bank first is so I don't have to carry most of it around, then I'll take out whatever I need for what else I have to/want to get.
