I suppose it depends on your definition of better.
P.S., if you think about it enough, the egg came first. Evolution has it that a "non-chicken" laid the first egg that was genetically "chicken", so the egg came before the chicken.
Anyone want to challenge this?

Well, if you believe in Creation, the Chicken came first.
