I have pets and pets have fleas. They've been biting my ankles and it's driving me nuts! What can I do to stop this?

I swear by Frontline Plus. My one cat had no fleas..then my sister got me this kitten that brought home TONS of fleas..it was horrible. I had flea bites..they were everywhere. I bought some Frontline Plus (got it on Ebay...an 8 month supply for $20..they sell it as a 1 dose for dogs...but that equals 8 doses for cats)....put it on my cats once a month...and I swear...since I've done that I haven't seen ONE flea. All of them are gone. There are none on my cats, none in the carpets..none anywhere. That stuff is great!! :)

How did people in the '00s feel about how people felt about the flea problem in the '80s?
