Luckily, ::) I missed it. I went over to my dad's house, which had Brighthouse/Time-Warner. (It was also his birthday, so I didn't really have a choice).

Station says porn clip interrupted Super Bowl

By MARK CARLSON – 1 hour ago

PHOENIX (AP) — A Tucson television station's broadcast of the Super Bowl on Sunday was interrupted for some viewers by about 10 seconds of pornographic material, the station said.

KVOA TV in Tucson released a statement saying that the only viewers who were able to see the material were those who receive the channel through Comcast cable.

The station said it will investigate the incident.

"When the NBC feed of the Super Bowl was transmitted from KVOA to local cable providers and through over-the-air antennas, there was no pornographic material," KVOA president and general manager Gary Nielsen said in a statement.

The KVOA statement said the station was dismayed and disappointed that some Comcast customers and their families were subjected to the material.

"KVOA will continue to investigate what happened to our clean signal and make sure our viewers get answers," Nielsen said in the statement.

Comcast spokeswoman Tracy Baumgartner confirmed that the company's standard feed was interrupted during the Super Bowl, although she said its high definition feed was not.

Baumgartner said engineers were investigating Sunday night.

Tucson media outlets reported that they received calls from irate viewers about the pornographic material.

A spokesman for Cox Cable said the company had not been affected.

"We have received no evidence that any inappropriate material was broadcast on any of our channels during the Super Bowl," Mike Dunne said. "The alleged incident appears to be isolated to the Comcast territory. We will offer our support to all appropriate organizations to help them determine what happened."

Joel Hilander of Tucson told The Associated Press that he and his young children saw the clip.

"I couldn't believe it. And I couldn't believe that my children were watching it either," Hilander said.

He said the interruption came just after the Arizona Cardinals' Larry Fitzgerald scored on a long touchdown reception during the final minutes of the game.

"And when I was your age, when we watched the Super Bowl, all we could hope for was ten frames of 15-pixel-by-15-pixel boob!  And it was half-covered up with this silver thing!  And it wasn't even in HD!  Uphill, both ways!  And ya tell kids about what it was like, and they don't believe you!"

The funny bit is that in the actual game, one of the commentators used the word "penetration" frequently enough that it would have qualified for a drinking game.

My daughter says, $10....is that the price for my soul?

If we want to give a formal complaint, the site has a
Comcast gmail address and the link does NOT work

They give a 1-888 number to Comcast...it's a recording and
NOT a live person-----sorry indeed!!

If you don't want their $10 rebate, what could you possibly want from them?

If you were to actually speak to a live representative what would you say to them? What is that live representative going to say to you that you want to hear?

I think there should be some clarification of what actually happened and what took place.

First, as far a porn is concerned, there was male frontal nudity and exposure. BUT that being said, there wasn't by anyones definition any showing of PORN or pornographic acts, not at least by anyones standard that I know of.
Would be considered "R"-rated, yes...porn, no. No depictions of any sexual acts of where shown, although, yes, the clip was from a pornographic film.

Next, this was not a Comcast mistake or flub. It was a deliberate act, either perpetrated by and/or with the cooperation of someone within Comcast and some other(s) outside manipulating (i.e. hacking) their system.

Comcast has already confirmed as such, are not happy about it and are investigating and asking the help of the FCC and FBI.

Why?

Understand that Comcast has quite a few of the PC/hacker and downloading community very upset over their practices of throttling bandwidth and random/arbitrary refusal of service. Even though Comcast has already been found guilty of violating some major laws and privacy rights, they still have some rather unsavory business practices in place regarding bandwidth usage, and manipulation in regard to torrents and certain web addresses. Not to mention, just general frustration (if you've been a Comcast customer) of their crappy unprofessional service.

My take is someone out there took it upon themselves to hack in and embarrass the hell out of Comcast when they could do the most damage to them. By picking a "sort of" semi-porn scene from an actual porn flick, they were demonstrating what they could do or the possibilities of what Comcast could be in for...final outlook on it?
Comcast has some very resourceful, vengeful and angry PC geeks/hackers out there, and be warned, they have porn... :D
