I'd probably dress like the stereotypical frat boy, with the pink polo shirt, the sideways-tilted hat, and the Livestrong bracelet.

To be serious, who would throw a 2000's decade party? Or even a 2010s party? It just doesn't have the same catch as the 50s,60s,70s,80s.  ::)

My nephews all dressed like that when they were 16 and kept it up through college.
I don't know about the pink shirt but they always had the yellow rubber bracelet, and they had their pants low.  They always had their hats a type of sideways.  Some had it facing the front but to the side and some wore it backwards to the side.  One of them even wore his visor backwards and upside down!  They even had their hats on like that when they were at dinner at a fancy restaurant.  I thought that was inappropriate but they were all polite kids.

Even now it seem like every teen I see has his hat to the side and a Livestrong bracelet.  One teen that I work with wears his hat to the side, he said it is much more comfortable wearing it straight but he just likes wearing it to the side.  He says its cool that way (and he's the type that thinks he's the coolest thing in the world) but I just don't get it, what kind of look does he want.  He wears a yellow Livestrong bracelet too.

I remember when I was a freshman/sophomore in high school around 2001-2002, the guys in my class all had like spiked up hair and some had those punk "spikes" on their wrists. I actually tried bleaching my hair and spiking it up like the one kid, but my hair turned out orange and looked like crap.  ;D

I think I would wear something like this: the typical 2003/2004/2005 streetstyle look (is also more flattering than a too short top/low-rise jeans).

And the chain HAS to be included.  ;)

I'm afraid in 2030 when the '00s revival is in full swing, most will dress up in emo attire 8-P. It is pretty weird that grunge and emo are remembered as the "definitive" trends for their respective decades('90s ans '00s) when in reality they were but a small part of the overall pop culture.

Yea, I noticed that too.  A lot of the teen customers that come into the gas station that I work at have a Livestrong bracelet.    Today an 18 year old with a yellow Livestrong bracelet bought cigarettes.  I said your not getting the message of Livestrong (it was supposed to be anti-cancer), he said its a good message but he wears it just because it looks cool, he said its still popular at his school.  And he had his hat to the side of course.

The same can be said for the '60s. Whenever there's a '60s day, you can bet your bottom dollar that most, if not all, the participants will dress up as hippies.

I can definitely picture people dressing up as hipsters at a 00s party. Or the gangster look and wear very baggy clothes to a party. With the addition of Rap/Hip Hop music predominately. That is what fashion will be most remembered for from the 00s. The 00s really does have a unique culture to it. The 90s would be more of the emo/grunge look but in the future, I think a 00s party would be full of gangster's wearing baggy clothes. A 10s party would probably be skinny jeans or something  ;D.

baggy clothes are definitely 1990s
skinny jeans is more a 2000s fashion because was representative of emo and early hipsters back in 2006-2008

Skinny jeans go back further than that. They were prominent attire for rock and metal bands that date back to the mid-late 70's. They are not something new and emo is not a genre. All that 'emo' is, is the Early 80's New Wave movement revisited.

Gah - I am so sick of all this decadeology crap.

Perhaps it was - but at this point I don't have anymore patience for decadeology and other ridiculous comparisons. It is stated on each board what decadeology is and why it is banned, yet freshly joined members feel the need to try and debate what the ADMINISTRATOR of the forum has set down. There is no debate. It's not allowed. Period.

Now I could be PMSing, but I would still feel the same way regardless.

I love you too Ash, and I can take the criticism. ;)

If I may, there were plenty of popular movies in the 2000's, so anyone attending a party for the decade would do well to come dressed as Harry Potter, Spider-Man, Captain Jack Sparrow, along with their cohorts, and assorted characters from the STAR WARS prequels and LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy, just to name a few.
By the same token, there were plenty of TV stars from the decade, so you could just as easily be on the lookout for people dressing like Horatio Caine, Jethro Gibbs, Dr. House, Charlie Harper, Liz Lemon, or any of the Desperate Housewives. The sight of anyone dressed as Steve Irwin will still break my heart. :(
Otherwise, keep an eye out for Tom Brady, LeBron James, Tiger Woods, Derek Jeter, Shaun White, and Maria Sharapova attending to represent the world of sports. Oh, and check the hot tub for Michael Phelps, LOL!

To the individual who fudged me:  Really? Over "tighty-whities?"

All right then. I attended an all-day hard rock festival this past weekend where a lot of people let their freak-flags fly and dress up in weird styles. One of my favorites was this guy who was in his 20's and was about 5'7" and wearing a skintight bright orange body suit and a sailor hat, and when he walked past these three teenage girls who were standing behind me they shrieked with laughter and I just lost it.

So you know what? If we ever have an "00s-themed party," I think I'll dress just like that guy, just for you.  8)

Well, if that was his reason, it was kind of ridiculous. Besides, guys in their underwear says a bit more early 90's than 00's(think Marky Mark & the Funky Bunch!) Otherwise, what would be the point of showing up to a party in your underwear!?

I'm not mad at because you fudged me. I was just more surprised than anything, because I make dumb and obnoxious posts here on a daily basis and to be honest, I'm surprised that my fudge count isn't in the triple digits. And I was surprised that you played the TMI card on me because the "tighty-whitey" thing is quite tame compared to a lot of my other post. As a matter-of-fact, over the last day or so I've made several comments about the fact that my belly is so big that it blocks my view of my doodad while I'm peeing, and if anything deserved the TMI card it was that.

Now as far as "tighty-whiteys" being inappropriate for an 00's-themed party, I can agree with your logic, because they'd certainly make more sense at an 80's party (Risky Business) or a 90's party, for the reasons you stated. And had you fudged me for that it would have made more sense.

Again I have no hard feelings towards you and I karmaed you just do drive that point home. However, I am going to fudge you tomorrow afternoon because now, if I DO go to an 00's-themed party then now I HAVE to go wearing a bright-orange skintight bodysuit and a sailor hat, since I am a man of my word and I can't back down now. Thanks!  :P

Sorry man, the 'TMI' bit was just brevity being the soul of my wit. But I would have been careful about showing up to any themed-party in tighty-whiteys, some female guests might mistake you for the entertainment, or given the jokes about your figure(which I haven't read), an ill-conceived attempt at it.
Besides, by telling us here about that, you've ruined the surprise!

She'll pop!
We gotta get the air out of her
There's no air in there...that's juice
will you roll the young lady down to the juicing room at once please?
What for?!?
For squeezing. she has to be squeezed at once before she explodes.
EXPLODES?!?!?
It's a very simple procedure

Here's how I think people will dress for a hypothetical "'00s Night" in the future.

Women:

Source: http://www.popeater.com/2009/12/15/celebrity-women-fashion/

Men:

I think men will either dress in the aforementioned "frat boy" look; or in the ghetto/gangsta look, e.g. tall tees, sagging jeans, grillz, and jewelry. The faux hawk would also be an option.
