Subject: A 2000's party: 2001 and 2003 hits needed

Written By: erik on 05/17/14 at 7:26 am

Hello! I am planning a party for the class of 2004 and most of the people want songs from 2001-2004. I've already selected some, but most of them are from 2002 and 2004. I ant to know what were the hit songs in September to December 2001 and May to September 2003. All I remember from 2003 is Beyonce's Crazy in Love. And from 2001 I guess I remember 'Come Along' and Shakira's 'Whenever'. Any help is welcome! BTW,I'm from Europe.

^Wow, thank you for your effort, it is appreciated. However, I don't remember hearing most of these. I guess I should've mentioned I'm from Eastern Europe where we mostly listen to local, American or continental (EU) music. For some reason after the 80's and early 90's (Dire Straits, Depeche Mode) UK music is not at all big here. From the ones you mentioned I only remember hearing Kosheen's Hide U and Jamelia's Superstar. Around that time the biggest hits here were Shakira's Whenever, Las Ketchup's Asereje (sp?) and Britney, Ricky Martin and Christina were still strong. Look, one of our local artists even used samples from Britney's Stronger for her song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RshuvGtEb_U Britney appears at 0:16. :P

I just don't want to go with the obvious, overplayed choices such as local music and Britney, Christina, etc. as they're definitely overplayed. Apart from those listed I would like to know what were the hottest US/Continent Europe artists around that time. I was just not that into music back then so I don't remember listening to radio. :)

I apologize for a lot of them being from 2003, I couldn't remember many good or prominent ones from 2001, bug I hope I helped!!

Did the neighbours come round and ask to keep it down?
