Subject: Thoughts on 00s Nick?

Written By: Zelek on 09/30/15 at 5:55 pm

I know it might've discussed before (sorta), but the other topic was about 2004 being the "last good year", not 00s Nick as a whole.

What are your thoughts on 2000s Nickelodeon? When this decade was going on, the shows of that era were widely despised. But nowadays, it seems most people have forgotten about the 00s shows, and instead criticize the 10s shows while still praising the 90s.

When the 00s shhows are brought up, people will usually say they were "forgettable" or "meh", a far cry from when they were considered "horrible abominations of mankind."

For me:
2000-2005 good, maybe even a little underrated
2006-2009 sucked very badly (season 2 of Avatar was great, though)
2010-now sucks even worse

Maybe it's a knee-jerk opinion, but it's one I can get behind.

To me, it was decent. I watched Nick often until I entered my double digits. Although it was declining in quality throughout the decade, it was still awesome. By the late 00s, that's when it was getting awful.

I find 2000s Nick to be the last era where Nickelodeon was actually good. It had good programming, good blocks and good promos. Nowadays, I just cringe whenever I see the new sheesh on the channel.

I have a pretty similar view on 00's Nick as you. I see 2000-2004/5 (along with 1998 & 1999) as the Silver Age of Nick

2005/6-2008 as the Bronze Age

2008-Present as the Dark Ages
