2000-2002 are my favorite 2000's years. They're the last great years while 2003 is the last good year. I don't care much for anything 2004-onward.

2000-2004 without a doubt.

I have to say 2005-2009 due to my superior social life and fair developed mindset. While 2000-2004 is my heaven, girls really impact my life as I was getting constantly approached and looked at through the mid to late 2000s. Even though I accidentally passed them up with critical regret, I'm still proud of my self to have been able to experience one of the greatest feelings, period.

Another question which section felt more quintessential to the 2000's decade?

The first part

Or the second part?

As much as I personally prefer the first part I would say the second part was more quintessential to the 2000's decade, culturally, politically, technologically, etc.

I feel like 10 years from now when people have 'noughties parties' the nostalgia is going to primarily focused on the 2005-2009 period rather than the 2000-2004 period. Especially since there are a lot of people on this forum who believe that 2006 or 2007 were the quintessential 2000's years

Nah, dude. The earlier 2000s will most definitely be primary focused. Nostalgia parties of the 2000s will be 2000-2008 focused. Early to mid 2000s nostalgic is in motion right now.

The first half. Reality TV/game shows were crazy in the early 2000's and I miss some of the fashions like my black bell bottoms with studs and zodiac sign t-shirt with glitter graphics.

Well, I consider 2004 the quintessential year of the 2000s decade, not to mention 9/11 occurred during the first half as well, so I'd probably go with the first part.  Furthermore, the early 2000s had the LOTR trilogy, as well as the movies in the Spider-Man, Shrek, and X-Men franchises that people actually liked, not to mention trends exclusive to the decade (unlike ongoing things such as Facebook and YouTube) like crunk, emo, MySpace, and iPods were already around by the first half.

As for the original question, definitely the first half.  TV was better, music was stronger except when compared to 2009, and video games were far more diverse and not oversaturated with FPS's and games that emphasize story over gameplay innovation.

Generally, the first half was much better. It had many things to offer throughout the period  8)

I honestly prefer the culture of the late '00s.  When I look back on things that defined the '00s as a decade, the period from 2006 through 2008 comes to mind.  The first half of the 2000s really wasn't that great in my personal life, with the exception of 2000 and 2003.  That era as a whole though sucked for me personally which molds my perception of it.

I prefer the late 2000s. The music of the early 2000s still sounds good.

I prefer both. The culture from the whole 2000s were cool, except for 2000 since it was just a cultural 90s year.
