I think we had a thread about exactly this (summer of '05). It was made by sonic2005 (or something like that, sorry I can't remember the exact username).

No.

Summer 2005 wasn't particularly memorable for me, in a good or bad way.  That was a very "meh" era of my life.  Wasn't unhappy but wasn't super happy either.

Re: the video you linked. I remember all those songs! But I did NOT want to be reminded of Hollaback Girl  >:( except when remembering the spelling of banana.

I think Don't Cha was the one I enjoyed the most out those.

I wouldn't say it was a legendary summer. 2005 was my favorite year of the 2000s, but I wouldn't say the summer was awesome. Basically, I really don't like summer. It seemed like hell for me, since it was really hot on most days. When I was a kid, I liked the cold.

Yeah, 2005 was really good. I was in summer school and still had a fantastic time. Even with the mistakes a made that year.

Being NINE in TWO-THOUSAND AND FIVE was pretty FYE at the TIME! Not the best summer of my personal life but the pop culture from my viewpoint was really good. It's all an opinion.

Here's some of my favorite movies that came out this year, and I don't care. I have some guilty pleasures here so stay alert!

Last but not least, when it comes to my childhood, I fill like 2005 as a whole year from start to finish was the last time the kids channels were at its peak for me. Especially when it came to the variety that was available. Cartoon Network's City Era was at its peak with new episodes of Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Codename: KND, Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, and Ed, Edd n Eddy. Ben 10 premiered this year. Duck Dodgers and What's New Scooby-Doo were still around as well as reruns of Cartoon Cartoons and other shows being around during some late nights or early mornings. The Saturday night version of Toonami with TOM 3 had a great lineup with Teen Titans, Justice League Unlimited, iGPX, Yu-Gi-Oh (reruns), The Batman, One Piece, and DBZ (Uncut). Cartoon Network Fridays was at its peak with Tommy and Tara, I remember them hosting all the shows like yesterday. It was the last full year Kids WB existed and still had a good lineup of shows. By 2005, Disney Channel couldn't have gotten any better. Suite Life of Zack & Cody premiered. That's So Raven and Phil of the Future were at its peak. There were so many cartoons by then with new episodes of Kim Possible, Proud Family, Lilo & Stitch, Brandy & Mr. Whiskers, Dave the Barbarian and American Dragon Jake Long. Including House of Mouse reruns at times. In fact, Kim Possible So The Drama and the Proud Family Movie premiered this year. It was the last time Disney Channel was perfect before Hannah Montana came into existence. Finally, Jetix on Toon Disney was at its peak as well. I loved watching some Marvel cartoons like X-Men or Spiderman, and Power Rangers Dino Thunder or S.P.D. each night!

2005 was a very relaxed summer for me looking back. Still a simpler time in life when I didn't have to worry about so much work yet. :o

10 years later, 2015 which just ended, was the complete opposite! Because of how stressful these last two semesters of college were for me, and the political/worldly news stuff that happened didn't help either.

I love of how you charted 2005 with everything that happened at the time. Love it.

I don't think any summers were legendary? To you, it was, but not to everybody. I wouldn't even think the summer of 1985 was the best, because it's just the f*cking same.

I wasn't even born yet in 1985, but I love the music and vibe of that era.

Summer of 2005. I remember visiting my family members for the summer. Looking back on it summer of 2005 was pretty fun. I was in a big house (2-3 stories) with 12 cousins/siblings and 3-4 aunts/uncles. Their was about 16-17 of us. We used to do so many things. My favorite summers are in '00, '03, '05, '10, and '13.

I do miss summer '05 that's when I just turned 18 and the novelty of being a legal adult still existed. Now that I'm almost 30 that's all faded and I'm just trying to get by day by day.  ::)

I know that must have been some serious fun. You wouldn't have to worry about the house feeling isolated to scary.
