Crazy to think that all this was literally over a decade ago. Heck that ipod is looking pretty old by today's standards. And that old flipphone  gives it the feeling of "this is an old era of cell phones" vibe.

If we're talking mid 2000s then I gotta include them Kingdom Hearts 2 memories.

Guys, can somebody here create a mid 2000s Urban Dictionary page! Or create some mid 2000s memes or Buzfeed lists and post them on Facebook and share them with your friends or something? Anything!

We need to spread mid 00s awareness and show people that there were OTHER parts of the 00s decade! I'm sick and tired of 2004-2005 pop culture getting swallowed into the "early 2000s" by foolish Facebook commenters (for example, I've heard lots of people say Danny Phantom and American Dragon jake long are "early 2000s shows").

Focus mostly on 2004-2006 pop culture but I guess some 2003 things could fit too.

I still find it funny how '04-'06 is placed into the "Early 2000s" group. That basically means that over half of the decade falls is considered early. I don't quite understand that. I wonder if I need an account to make stuff on Urban Dictionary. It's not a website I usually visit due to how crazy it can be at times. Although with would be cool to make a youtube video that include a ton of stuff from the mid 2000s. Especially since I'm a bit nostalgia for 2004 and 2005 by this point.

The mid 2000s are 2003 - 2006 in my eyes.

It's accurate to say that (to me 2003 is both early and mid and 2006 is both mid and late). I can see why people include 2003 in the early 2000s, but I don't know why 2004-2005 is include. And like Zelek said most early 2000s things died by the mid 2000s. It's rather strange.

Great show that shows off the mid 2000s era of Middle School (ran from 2004-2007).

I think that to most people, the years XXX0-XXX4/5 are the "early" part of a decade, while the years XXX5/6-XXX9 are the "late" part of a decade.

To your average Joe, there is no "mid 90s" - only "early 90s" and "late 90s". I don't agree with it, but I can't change what they think.

I would've added a lot of shows from the mid 2000s, but that would probably take me too long. So I just chosen a few of them that I liked as a kid. But yeah, Ned's Declassified was one of the best Nick shows out there. It's like a masterpiece towards the network at the time.

I don't really agree with just the early and late portions existing. The mid portion makes sense, since that explains transitional decades like the 90s or 2000s well.

I loved Ned's Declassified! Zoey 101 was also a popular nick show in the mid 00s (the first two seasons at least).

I don't usually see a decade as only an early and late part. I include a mid part due to that being when a decade hits its peak in terms of distinct culture. 1995 is certainly a more quintessential  1990s year than any early 1990s year such as 1991 or late 1990s year such as 1998. The mid part of a decade is very important. So I don't know why some would ignore them.

Yeah, does bother me from time to time. It's mainly due to people not paying attention to the differences between the periods. The mid 2000s stuff were different from the early 2000s stuff.

Off-subject, but now I feel like watching Drake and Josh. Also curious on what you guys thought if Zoey 101.

Zoey 101 was alright. I watched a few episodes and it was pretty cool for a show made by Dan Schneider.

I miss those black flat screen Dell desktops that were seemly exclusive to schools.

Don't worry about it, '99 Baby. If you feel like you've posted too many images you don't have to remove them. Just put them in a spoiler box. That way you can have a lot of images, but since they aren't immediately shown they won't lag up the page loading. They're only shown when someone hovers their mouse over the spoiler box.

She still has her significance after 2007. Hell, her music is still a bit good. It's not as iconic as it was in the early-mid 2000s, but it's still decent if you listen to it.

After reading this thread, I am really starting to feel nostalgic for the Mid 2000s. People who have suggested that the Mid 2000s are often overlooked are absolutely correct. Whilst the Mid 2000s may not have had a strong identity, it is still a period of time which deserves to be recognised. Maybe I am being bias, because half of my core childhood occurred during the Mid 2000s, but the Mid 2000s deserve to be viewed in the same regard as the Early & Late 2000s.

I feel the same as you. I often look the mid 2000s as a similar era to the early 2000s. It might have to deal with the shows and movies I watched as a kid. But most of the movies that I watched as a kid were either from the late 90s, and the early-mid 2000s. But I tend to think of it as the iPod/Windows XP era, since that's when those things were very popular at the time.

There were '70s Star Wars figures?

I only know of the Early Bird Certificate Package from then. I tend to think of everything released from '78 to '79 as '80s Kenner Star Wars lines.

Personally, it felt like the mid 2000s started to transition around the 2006-07 school year. It wasn't until the summer of 2007 where it felt like entirely different to me.

Frankly, 2007 wasn't that much of a mid 2000s year culturally. If you would've gone back in time to the summer of 2007, you would've saw me watch YouTube videos on my family's iMac G5. That's different than what I did earlier in late 2004-early 2007, where I would go and use my computer for other websites.

There really wasn't a difference between 2006 and 2007 except for the unveiling of the first IPhone. People used YouTube in 2006 as well as 2007. Late 2007 is when Facebook started getting popular. The big change and transition happened in 08'. They weren't exactly the same, but more similar to each other than 2008 was to 2007.

When the Gameboy advance SP released it was a godsend. For the first time you could recharge your handhelds. From my time with the GBC and GBA I did get frustrated when my batteries would die AFTER I did something cool. I remember catching a hard-to-catch/find Pokemon (forget its name) in Pokemon Ruby only for my GBA to die on me. I didn't save soooooooo I lost my progress.

Having to play from battery to battery made things annoying.

That's what made the GBA SP look better. Especially when it's the best Game Boy model, since it could play Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance games. Not to mention that it has a backlight, where you could see it in the dark.

Oh yeah I forgot about that. Not only could it recharge, but it could also play games from GB, GBC, AND GBA games as well.  I never owned the original gameboy, but thinks to the GBC, GBA, and GBA SP being backwards compatible I never needed to. If you never owned any GB handheld besides a GBA SP it wouldn't matter since you could just play all the old GB games dating back to 1989 anyways. It was truly fascinating. And being able to play it in the dark due to the backlight was also nice.

The SP felt as if it didn't even belonged to me and had to be obtained as a Nintendo membership. Dark red is its iconic color to me. That light up in the dark feature was a luxury experience. I do miss the difficulties of attempting to play a SP that light function was broke as I'm riding in the car at night passing the street lights though. That's some mid 2000s stuff right there. Haha

Who watched MTV's Wild N' Out back then? The show is still active, but I feel it will always be associated with the mid 2000s.

I remember playing a GBA in a car at night. I'd pause and every time we were placed under a light I quickly resumed and tried to beat through the game. Certainly didn't help that while I'm waiting to unpause my game the battery life is depleting. :(

Did anyone mention The Killers yet? I've had Smile Like you mean it, stuck in my head for the last few days. It's one of the reasons I joined this forum.

I listened to this song for the first time in a few years and I felt a massive sense of nostalgia listening to it! It was released in 2003, but I remember it was still popular in 2004, so I thought I would post it here. I apologise for reviving an old thread, but there wasn't a more recent "nostalgia" thread and I just had to share my nostalgic experience. :P

I actually wanted to see this thread revived anyway. Bring in the nostalgic vibes.
