I'm not sure what you mean by "personal generation." If you mean closest in age, people born mid to late eighties would be my answer.

I really feel like I should have been born in the late 1970s, even though I'm only 24. The overwhelming bulk of music, video games, and movies I like most are from around the period of 1982 to 2001. I also have more of a late Gen-X personality than my millennial contemporaries.

I love pop culture from 1983 to 1995 the most. I would haved to have been born circa 1975 to remember it all!

I really feel like I should have been born in the late 1960s to early 1970s because I would have been a teenager or a "young adult" in the 1980s.  :)
