Subject: The Yu Gi Oh Era (2001-2006)

You guys remember when Yugioh dominated the playgrounds, where everyone traded the cards and dueled? As well as the popularity of the TV show.

Share your memories here.

I remember Yu-Gi-Oh was popular at my primary school until about 2008. Also, there is a small group of kids at my high school who still play Yu-Gi-Oh today. :P

In my state from I know during that era, Pokémon still held down 2001 with Johto. It wasn't until 2002 Yu-Gi-Oh came into play until 03. By 04, Yu-Gi-Oh cards was completely forgotten as everyone went back to Pokémon with the Fire Red/Leaf Green remakes.

Yu-Gi-Oh from I remember, 2002-2003 and maybe a glimpse of early 04.

This was the first kid fad that I was too old to be a part of. Although, I do remember watching a few episodes of the show over the years, though.

Yu-Gi-Oh! was pretty much the big fad of 4th grade (2002-2003) at my school. I had first heard about the show the previous summer, but it quickly started to decline in the 2003-2004 school year, during which the stupid and pointless Noah Arc (lol at the name of the season) barged in to ruin the dramatic buildup of the Battle City Arc just because the latter had run out of episodes in its contract during production. Aside from the Pyramid of Light movie in summer 2004, I heard next to nothing more about the show up until its conclusion in 2006.

All that said, the card game itself was pretty fun. I had pretty much the worst deck out of all my friends, but it was still addictive, regardless.

Just like everyone, it was very popular in the 2002-03 year but after that, it was gone faster than Pokemania despite it was still shown until 2006. As for everything else, I actually had a deck that one of my friends gave me, and I ended up losing them over the years. We would duel each other, and he even had a game of that anime. It was really fun! :)

Where I live it was really popular 2001-02, 2002-03 (the peak) and 2003-04. After that I didn't really play it much or watch the TV show. I remember some kids still played it though. Sometime in 2005-06, my neighbours, who were kids ages 6 to 9 years old, kept asking me if they can have this card or that card of mine, and it pissed me, off so I said they could have all of it, because I never thought I'd play it again. I regret that now.  ;D

In 2008-2010, there were people in my high school that still played it. If you came early in the morning, an hour before school started, you could see people play it in the hallways. That was nerd hour.

In 2010/2011, me and my friends brought Yugioh 5Ds for the Xbox 360, and we played that a sh*t ton on Xbox Live. Probably a 100+ hours, haha. We're huge nerds.  ;D

There's an app that's really popular, it came out this year or the last, I think. I have it installed but haven't had the time to play it. My friends talk about it all the time.
