Subject: Reality shows destroyed pop culture for TV?

Reality shows became a huge thing in the mid 2000s. Was that the true beginning of a horrible pop culture for the people that watch TV. I remember that watching TV started to suck around that time when reality shows were rising to it`s popularity and more and more people made those kind of shows. It got really annoying. What do you think? Let me know.
