It's gotta be 2008 for me. A weird choice I'm sure, especially for the movies I would pick:

Wall-E
The Dark Knight
Harold & Kumar - Escape from Guantanamo Bay
Speed Racer
Prince Caspian

These movies, to me, felt like the end of an era. Or maybe it was the beginning of a new one.

Kind of undecided between 2000 and 2004. Both were full of classic comedies or at least several movies with lots of laughs.

2000's was a very underrated decade for movies man! Personally I think all of the years, with the exception of 2006 & 2009, were great years for film. Special effect technology was nearly perfected by this decade (unlike the 80's/90's when it was in the experimental phase) so you had some awesome films, mixed in with great story telling, and original ideas. From fantasies like Lord of The Rings or Harry Potter, to epic adventures like Pirates of the Caribbean or The Time Machine, and action flicks like Fast & The Furious or Spiderman, & who could forget one of the greatest suspense films of all time, The Dark Knight. Such an awesome decade for flicks indeed :D. It was still an era (for the most part) when Hollywood was original (like much of the 70's-90's), mixed in with the modern special effects of today, thus cultivating into some epic tales.

Anyways its hard to choose, but my personal favorite year would probably be 2004.

Here was the top 10 grossing films from that year:

Highest-grossing films of 2004

1. Shrek 2 DreamWorks $919,838,758
2. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban Warner Bros. $796,668,549
3. Spider-Man 2 Columbia $783,766,341
4. The Incredibles Disney / Pixar $633,019,734
5. The Passion of the Christ Icon / Newmarket $611,899,420
