However, I can identify a whole 5 different eras in the 2000s which are all somewhat different:

-Y2K era:                2000 - Mid 2001

-Early 2000s:          Late 2001 - 2003

-Mid 2000s:            2004-2006

-Regular Late 2000s: 2007 - Mid 2008

-Electropop 2000s:    Late 2008 - 2009

You're right, it isn't. It's just when you mentioned the Y2K in your list, I thought I'd just give my opinion on it even if it isn't relevant to the 2000's.

Going by the chronological early, mid, late system:

Y2K Era (equally 90's & 00's): Winter of 1998/1999 through Summer of 2001

Early 00's (Mostly 00's culture with late 90's influences): Autumn of 2001 through Winter of 2003/2004

Mid 00's (Pure unadulterated 2000's culture): Spring of 2004 through Autumn of 2006

Late 00's (Mostly 00's culture with early 10's influences): Winter of 2006/2007 through Spring of 2009

00's/10's culture was pretty equidistant in cultural influence for most of 2009 & 2010 (similar to the Y2K era), but by 2011 it was primarily early 10's

Yup. Although he was confusing these two eras, like you said the Millenium Era went from 1997-2003, however the peak of this era - Y2K was mostly 1999-2001

Much of 1997 & 1998 is just regular late 90's. The Y2K era is a distinct era between the late 90's & the early 00's.

True, but it was balanced out with some Late 90's R&B, Rap, & Some tail end core 90's elements like Grunge, House, & Britpop.

The early part of every decade usually is like that. The early 2010s were a mix between 2000s and 2010s.

2000 to 2003 = early 2000s
2004 to mid-2006 = mid-2000s
Late 2006 to mid-2009 = late 2000s.

2000- September 11 2001 = 90s/00s Y2K holdover
Sept 11 2001 - June 2003 = early 2000s
July 2003- 2005 = mid 00s
2006-2008 = Late 00s
2009-2011 = 00s/10s hybrid era

2000-2002: The Shaq & Kobe Era
2003-2007: The San Antonio Spurs Era
2008-2009: The Lebron, Celtics and Kobe Era

2003-2006: mid 2000s

2007-2009: late 2000s.

2010-2011: late 2000s/early 2010s mix. Not 2000s but not really 2010s either.

Core 2000s: 2002-2008.

As I stated before, the 2000's can be split into two distinct halves. 2000 and early 2001 was an extension of the late 90's/Y2K era, so the first half of 00's culture is late 2001-2004. The second half is 2005-2008. 2009 is more associated with early 10's culture.
