Subject: PC Games from the Late 90s Early 00s

Written By: SeaCaptainMan97 on 03/10/18 at 4:29 pm

One of my most fondest memories from my early childhood in the early 00s was playing the CD-based Edutainment PC games, mostly the ones from Humongous Entertainment, though I also enjoyed Jumpstart games as well.
Most of these games were released in the late 90s, but they were definitely still popular choices for parents with 3-6 year old children all throughout the first half of the 00s.

My favorites were the Pajama Sam games, I also loved Putt Putt, Freddi Fish, and the Nick Jr. based game "Blue's Birthday Bash" as well, didn't care too much for Spy Fox though.
I also enjoyed playing the Backyard Sports series with my older sisters, those sort of games were more of their thing, but they'd let me play those games with them.

Even outside of the kiddy stuff, I also used to play the original Sims game with my older sister back then, she was definitely a big Sims fan back in those days, and even was a part of the online community back then.

What are your memories with PC games that were released in the late 90s early 00s?
If you're older and were outgrown of the kiddy edutainment games by then, do you have nostalgia for games such as Duke Nukem 3D, Diablo, Half Life, Unreal Tournament, or the original Sims game? Perhaps any of the SimCity games?
Let me know in the comments below.

Here's some memorabilia for me;

I made some threads related to this and some of my answers are in there

PC (educational) games for kids (1900s)
Tycoon/Simulation Games (2000s)

I'll say again that simulation games such as Zoo Tycoon, Roller-coaster Tycoon, SimCity 4, Mall Tycoon, School Tycoon etc. and the like were my holy grail in the early-mid 2000s. I could not get enough of them! It's very tragic actually how despite all the computer processing power we have now, this genre is more or less removed from its golden age.  :-\\

It doesn't seem I played as many computer games as other people on this website as a child. Aside from what's already been mentioned such as the Sims original, Tycoon Rollercoaster, Zoo Tycoon, and Mall Tycoon, I also played these a child

If this doesn't shake your nostalgia, you ain't a true 2000s kid in my eyes.

If you didn't have these 2 games, you were screwed over.

Most of my computer games were Amiga floppies from about 10 years before that. Those were given to me by my older cousins when they got rid of their old Commodore Amiga around 1996 and gave it to me. That was my first computer.

My parents finally got a new PC around late 1999, but we didn't have a lot of games for it. I was always more of a console kid.
