Subject: Anyone else noticing an increase of 2000's borns on this forum?

Written By: Rainbowz on 03/25/18 at 12:52 am

I'm actually a 2000's baby myself, however, the fact that there are many other 2000's babies on this forum is actually quite surprising, because it actually wasn't what I expected, at least with a forum like this.
Judging from lurking the boards and reading past threads, it seemed like 2016 was the last year where 2000's babies were in the minority. Ever since about 2017, there's been a huge increase in the number of 2000's babies joining this forum.
Myself personally, I joined this website because I heard about it on PerC, which is a website I joined because I became interested in generations when reading an article about it.
The reason why I'm surprised that there are many other 2000's babies on here is that never before on other forum websites that I visited have I seen so many other people born in the same decade as me. The youngest user on here was born in 2005, which was especially surprising, but it didn't necessarily make me feel "old" in the sense that it was just surprising to me that people around my age would actually become interested in a forum like this. I really thought I was in the minority.

What do you think? Have you noticed the increase of 2000's borns on this forum? Is it surprising to you?

10 years from now, if this website still even exists, people born in the 1900's will most likely be in the minority  ;D The youngest that could sign up by then will be 2015 borns.  :o

Waiting for the 10s kids to take over! Looks incredibly interesting (if not ultra scary).

Also waiting for the 2007 babes, looks fun to see people having the same way your childhood was definied by a decade but 10 years later ;D

That would be 2012 babies for me.
I honestly wonder how different their childhood was from mines.  :o

Don't worry. By 2028 when inthe20s.com exists all 2000s born will be between ages 19 to 28. Late teens to late twenties. And everyone from 1999 or prior will be around their 30s or older.

I'm gonna be an old fogy by the time this website is ran by 2000s born.

Plankton was born 1942.

Damn, when I think about it, he was originally intended to be middle aged when the show aired in 1999, but now he'd be well into senior citizen territory :o

Plankton and Mr. Krabs were 57 when the show started airing, today they are 76.
Spongebob was 13 when the show started airing, today he is 32.
Squidward was 22 when the show started airing, today he is 41.
Patrick was 15 when the show started airing, today he is 34.
Sandy Cheeks was 26 when the show started airing, today she is 47.
Miss Puff was 41 when the show started airing, today she is 60.

I rounded some of the ages up because I'm too lazy to calculate whether their birthday has passed or not.

Mr Krabs is very stingy with his money and on the show his childhood looks to me like it took place during the Great Depression of the 1930s.  It seem to me that Mr Krabs was born around 1926 1927 or 1928

Well, a few years ago, there were 1999 babies joining the Personality Cafe Generations forum and inthe00s around the age I am now, 16. So of course people born in the early 2000's like myself are joining since were ages 15 to 18 now.

Though I'm also starting to notice even younger users joining who aren't even in high school yet. I don't have a problem with them at all. But what I've noticed is the users are joining at younger ages.

I don't think it's because he's stingy. He likes amassing large amounts of money so that's why he doesn't spend it either.

People born in the early 2000's (2000-2003) are also 2000's kids, though they are 2010's kids as well, when you use ages 6-10 as core childhood.

Some of them are nostalgic for the 2000's, some are also nostalgic for the early 2010's. I'd assume a lot of them also just have a general interest in pop culture, past, present, and future, that's one of the primary reasons I joined at least.

That is something I've noticed. There were more "I hate the 2010's so much" threads back then than there is today. I think it's probably because we are very close to the 2020's, and most of the threads made today are about "How will the 2020's be like" or something trying to predict the future.

2010s bashing still exists mostly on YouTube and it ticks me when people have a useless excuse to bash this decade and the kids of it also. Anyways I'm not ready for people to hate on the 2020s.

They're only in a niche corner of the internet. Don't let these things get to you. It's not worth your time. People hate every generations besides their own, just look at a GenXer like Gavin Mccines, that guy gives crap to both Baby Boomers and Millennials. This is why generational labels are pee pee.

Yeah, it's an endless cyclus. People will be happy for like the time of January 2020 because the previous decade is over, then late 2020-2021 memes will appear about the state of the world being disheartening, then in 2022-2023 people will start hating on the new decade and saying how things were better in the 2000s, then in 2024-2025 nostalgia for the early 2010s will surface, then 2026-2027 people will get excited for the new decade to come and wish the current one being over already, and so on and so forth.

Just ignore the fools and enjoy the new stuff ::)

3000: I remember back in 2018 when we actually had to take an airplane to travel across the world, now there are kids who have their own flying cars and never have to worry about getting a drivers license. They're a lot lazier compared to back in my day where we had to drive to the airport for hours. I'm glad I grew up in the 2010's.

3000: Yeah, that's why our kids nowadays are fatter, because technology does everything for them, requiring very little if not any movement. I remember back in the 2010's when we actually had to walk to our fridge if we wanted to get a drink or something. 2010's kids actually played outside and had very little technology compared to kids of today. Being a 2010's kid was the sh!t.

Yeah, that's why kids nowadays are lazier. Back in my day, the fridge wouldn't come to us, we had to literally walk to the fridge. Kids don't need to do that anymore. They just sit on their butts and call it for them.
Back in my day, people were more active and actually walked to the fridge if they needed it.

Y'all laughing on that, but the concept of crapping on the current generation and saying how much the previous one was better really does date as far back as the ancient Egyptians

2000s borns are currently 8-18 years old. It's only natural that there will be some of the older '00s babies that will be joining or have joined forums.

I'm not surprised at the 2000-2003 borns. I'm surprised at the '00s babies born in 2004 and after that are on forums.

However, that's just me.

Yes, you get it. What makes 2004 babies different? Is it the fact they're still 13/14 in the 8th grade, or is it the fact that they're core childhood was fully in the 2010's?

I am happy that they are coming in drones now to keep this site alive. I actually thought this site would be dead two years ago because it was very inactive and not a lot of new members were joining. Turns out two years later a new generation of young people revived it which is good!  :)

Baby in this sense is a metaphor for "I thought you were really young". Slowpoke is 7 years older than you...so it makes sense.

2002 babies are the young ones? Dammit, I was literally born four f*cking days after 2001 ended. This isn't fair!  >:(

Oh hey we're almost birthday twins  ;D. I was born a couple of days into 2002 lol.

This problem isn't worth your time, bro. Everyone hated on the 2000's when it was going on.

For real. My uncle told me once that he felt bad for me because my childhood was in the 2000s which apparently sucked and his were in the 80s which apparently were the best time to be a kid. This was in 2007. I WAS FIVE. Why would you even say that to a five year old? lol. The only reason I remember this was because I legit got upset and thought everything I was doing at the time was crappy compared to what he used to do when he was a kid lol.

I was told the opposite, I was lucky to not go to school with the teachers using physical harm as a way to ground you, or having access to much more toys than they did ;D
