Subject: Most boring year of the 2000's (Poll)

What year if the 2000's was the most boring ?

2009. When I thought about it, I almost voted 2008 but the year actually had some redemptions for me. 2009, I said it so many times, felt like literal filler.

For me personally, 2005.

2008 and 2009 for me which were my peak years of middle school. The core 2000's were dead and the transition into the 2010's culture was happening throughout this time so it was kinda like puberty. The economy was really bad too which included stores closing down and a lot of celebrity deaths the following year including Michael Jackson. 2008 may have been a great year culturally for the peak of late 2000's since it was a historical year for politics and 7th generation was in its prime with the Wii and XBOX 360, but compared to the rest of the defining 2000's moments these 2 years were the most lame IMO.

2008 held onto many 2000s things tho until November when everything went away,  but compared to the REAL 2000's  2001-2006
yes it can not compare

I think a weak pop culture year can contribute to a lackluster personal life or at least take away from a strong personal life. To be honest, it was a very lackluster year for my personal life. With the exception of The Prestige and Children of Men, I thought the movies of that year particularly weak. I can't remember an music that came out in 2006 really grabbing me. I most jammed to stuff popular in 2005 or before. The mid-00s was petering out and it really really felt like it. The year just felt boring. Things kinda perked up in the fall with JT and Amy Winehouse but they didn't save the year.

WARNING: FOR THE MOST PART, 2007 WAS A BLUR AND MY POST IS NOT COMING FROM EXPERIENCE

Based on what I see and read, 2007 was... meh... I don't know many good songs from that year either.... Britney Spears was in her situation.... On a side note, it seemed like the 2000s was the breakdown age of female celebrities  ??? .... But yeah, my final vote is 2k7

I know i'm bias when I say this (since I was 8 years old at the time), but I personally believe that 2007 was one of the best years of the naughties. It was a great year to experience as a child, especially with the likes of "The Simpsons Movie" and "Transformers" being released to cinemas, as well as songs such as "Given Up", "Untouched" and "Shut Up and Drive". It is entirely subjective though.

2007 had a very stand alone year feel,  so much that 2008 felt like a continuation of 2006 moreso than 2007.

I also voted for 2009. Personally I don't really think there were any major or exciting events that year. Plus it was an awkward time where the rest of the 2000's felt pretty different, but then also looking back now it doesn't really compare well with the early 10's.

Obama was inaugurated in 2009. For that reason alone 2009 >>>>

;D

But also, it was also when smartphones became commonplace, Windows 7 came out, HDTVs were ubiquitous, social media sites like Facebook and Twitter were very exciting and promising, and a lot of atrocious 2000s fashion styles went away. It was one of the most changeful year of the 2000s, after 2008 or more than 2008 depending on how you look at it. Love it or hate it, "boring" it is not IMO :P

I like 2009 and agree that it was majorly transitional. But, I still feel that besides Obama's inauguration it was boring because of how slow and uninteresting that transition felt (to me anyway). Also western television animation and the economy were both practically on life support that year. Anyway, I definitely agree that the murder of 2000's fashion was a godsend. ;D

I agree with 2006. It seems the only thing I remember was hearing "You're beautiful" by James Blunt on repeat. That year did not have a lot of good music or movies. The Departed was pretty good though, and Borat, Talladega Nights, Night at the Museum, V for Vendetta, and a few others. In my personal life it wasn't that exciting either, except for getting a Wii and Italy winning the World Cup.

*I remember i went to spend the night at my preschool teachers house it was fun lol.
*I remember in December 2009 when we had a christmas party and we took a family Christmas picture, i was mad in it though lol.

2009 felt like yesterday for me lol. It was when I first started grade 9 and I went on a trip to Quebec in the summer. During that trip is when I heard of the death of Michael Jackson. I was 14 years old at the time. 2009 was not a terrible year and for my personal life it was great, however the years before that were much more interesting and better. I always see 2009 connected more to the 2010s decade than the 2000s.

I don't remember the death of MJ and 2009 did feel like a transitional year, the Bush era was over and we got a new and first African American president. I also remember when i got a haircut in 2009.

2003 was like this year where NOTHING happened other than a black out on the east coast.

I voted for 2000 as it was very uneventful and overly long boring year and it has almost nothing in common with the rest of the decade and it took everything bad about 1999 and combined it all into ONE.

2000 was so awful, that's it awfulness crossed over into most of 2001 and took most of that year down with it as well.

Really? That’s my favorite time during the 2000s lol. Oh well. For me I’d say probably 2005. Idk what is it about that year but I have much more memories of 2004 and 2006 than I do of 2005.

2009. Most of the music, movies (besides Avatar, District 9, Up, and Coraline), and games just felt watered down and cookie-cutter to me.
