Subject: Were fauxhawks more of a 00s or an early 10s thing?

David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo were some of the most popular wearers and the guy from Maroon 5, too. It was big here in Europe in 2008-2009, but I don't remember much about 2010. I'd say in 2013 very few people if at all had it.

It was more of a 2004/5 to about 2008/9. Therefore it's more of a mid to late 00's thing. It might come back in style over the next few years.

Mid 2000s I’d say. I remember loads of boys in my school having fauxhawks. David Beckham made them really popular.

Interesting to note, that 'fauxhawk' does not have a dedicated page for this hairstyle.

I didn't know the style was called a fauxhawk. This is what I meant when I said "spikey hair" was more popular in my high school in the late 2000s than emo hair.

It was big from 2005-2012, with it gradually becoming tighter on the sides until it became an undercut. When David Beckham was sporting the style in 2005/2006 pretty much everyone copied it. I don't remember that many emos in my high school (people think if you cover your forehead with hair then it's emo but that's not my definition).

They’re as 2005 as the “Tough enough to wear pink” shirt fad.

Thanks people. I think it looks better than an undercut but like most trendy hairstyles in the last couple of decades they're better on straight-haired guys.
