Subject: 20 years since Big Pun's death

Written By: mwalker1996 on 02/09/20 at 3:51 pm

On February 7th, 2000 we lost a rapper name Big Pun. He was a Bronx native rapper with Puerto Rican decent. His first album (captial punishment) released in 1998 went double platinum (the frist Hispanic rapper to do so). He's known for songs like not a player, still a player, 100 percent, and it's so hard. His second album (Yeah baby) released on April, 4 2000 but unfortunately released 2 months after his death on February 7, 2000. His cause of death was due to a heart attack. He struggled with his weight and ended up being 700 lbs at his death. He was definitely an underated rapper, paved the way for Fat Joe's success in the 2000s, and have a career that parallels Biggie's though Biggie is much more recognizable to the average rap\music listener. Who remember Big Pun or listen to his songs before?

I've heard him being mentioned a couple of times in the rap circuit, and yeah, this dude can definitely spit. RIP.
